The word ‘chiropractic’ comes from the Greek words cheir (meaning ‘hand’) and praktos (meaning ‘done’), i.e., done by hand. It has esoteric origins and is based on several pseudoscientific ideas, Chiropractic therapy is the non-surgical treatment of nervous system disorder and musculoskeletal system. The therapy focuses on the relationship between the spine and the body’s function.
The chiropractic profession continues to grow and evolve. There are more than 70,000 chiropractors licensed today in the United States practicing in solo practices, multidisciplinary clinics and major hospital systems. Chiropractic is well established in the United States, Canada, and Australia. It overlaps with other manual-therapy professions such as osteopathy and physical therapy
